US Clock & Brass Co. Ogee

USCBCo-1

In 1866 or 1867, Chauncey was hired as superintendent of the USC&B Co in Austin, Illinois. The company lasted less than a year. Although this clock does not bear his label, he almost certainly oversaw its production. Examples with a Chauncey Jerome label are not particularly common. Interestingly enough, the USC&B label shows Chicago as the location of the company, whereas the Jerome labels list the location as Austin, IL. Austin was a suburb of Chicago.
