This soprano ukulele was not made with anyone in mind, but I think it will be going to a friend. The components are:
Spanish cedar top (2-piece)
Curly maple back (2-piece)
Maple sides (2-piece)
Maple neck
Cedar (Western Red?) and Curly maple face plate
European pear fretboard
Unknown hardwood fret markers (at 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 10th frets)
Maple fretboard binding with ebony dust-impregnated epoxy fret dots
Mahogany wood bridge
Ebony nut and saddle
Cedar (Western Red?) tail stripe, heel cap, and sound hole rosette (with European pear inner and outer rings)
Graphtec tune-a-lele tuners
Oasis GPX fluorocarbon strings (Bright High G)
The European pear, ebony, and maple (neck only) were all donated by my uncle, Gerry VanNess. The cedar (Western Red?) was from cedar shakes discarded when our 1924 house was built and found last year in the attic. The mahogany was salvaged from a c. 1840 dining room chair that was severely damaged during a move.
