This ogee dates to around 1843, a time when Jerome was purchasing some movements from his brother’s firm, Jerome & Grant. The contract with Jerome & Grant was for 40,000 movements at $1.40 each. Reverse-painted tablets with landscapes such as the one on this clock went out of style shortly thereafter.
Printer’s line reads “John Black, Printer, 75 Fulton Street, N. Y.”
